Anyone have first hand experience w/ Interior Design or Interior Architecture programs @the following schools?

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College Chicago, Parson's School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology and Rhode Island School of Design. What is the program like? How are the professors, facilities, technology? Is the school more interested in their students educations or how much money they can get from the students? Thank you Skyblue for your answer but I already know that. I will be returning to college to finish my degree. As for the FIDER accredition, that is not always true.My last school was FIDER accredited and it was awful.

  1. I graduated with a BA in Interior Design 7 years ago. I'm not familiar with the colleges you mentioned, but look for an interior design program that is FIDER credited. To be FIDER credited, the interior design program must meet certain criteria. The school's program is evaluated by the FIDER panel to make sure the students are being taught everything they need to know to be proficient in interior design. One of the best interior design programs is at Kent State University. (I wish I would've went there.) I live near Cleveland and I have searched for jobs in the past throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois. I was passed up for positions quite a few times by Kent State interior design graduates. You really get what you paid for from Kent.
  2. Some of the best schools in the field are on your list: Art Institute of Chicago, Parsons, and RISD. FIT is also quite strong. Columbia College is less known.
