What should be a good career to get in to?
I am going to college, and I am going for something that has to do with drawing. Either in Drafting or Architecture .... Buildings, Industry Products or Landscape. I am having a hard time trying to decide which area to major in. I start college in May for remedial study since I have been out of school for quite some time. Since job demand goes by where you live, I live in Monroe, Michigan if that helps. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

- Well, what's a career?
- You should strongly consider architecture. Best investment in the world is Real Estate, and why? Because people always want to develop it, which requires architects. Keep in mind that in Monroe, you're not going to find much to do. Of anything, really. I hate that town. Move up north a bit and see if you can catch the rejuvenation phase that Detroit is going to hit soon. Should be lots of building and remodeling then.
- The best site I've found is the US Government's Occupational Outlook Handbook. It's a most up-to-date resource that tells all about various careers, including the outlook on salaries, what's required to enter the field, whether the opportunities are growing or not in the United States, etc. The home page also offers a link to state-by-state information. Good Luck!
- Take recommended courses from there you will find your answers. Ask yourself what drives you? What is your passion?
- Career Leaders is a great test to take to determine which career path most in line with your interests
- Hmmm, Michigan is flat and its architecture is formulaic. If you're going to get into landscaping or architecture, consider moving to the NE. Otherwise I'd suggest accounting. Either way, good luck.
- depends on what u r studying
